i occasionally check in here to visit a couple friends.
but have been spending alot of time on flickr, making a spot for my self portraits and searching for inspirations.
hoping the new year is full of motivation.

well, happy groundhog day everyone! i've given up on winter, longing for a heavy snowfall and only getting some stupid flurries. now it's cold and i'll be damned if we have to buy oil soon. which we will, i'm sure.
also, i can't believe there's a living room in our apartment that we haven't used in months!
(it's closed off to save on heat). and damn, i miss the porch!
so, yes, folks, i say 'so long old man winter, see you next year'...
in other news, i am very excited to use the gift certificate to the art store my friends got me, and i don't know what i'm going to buy, but it's the store i worked at for 6 years, and i've been remembering the prices and the products, imagining myself going in there, and last night i dreampt that i worked there again. eep!

if anything, it was....relaxing.
we spent alot of time just hanging out in the room, The Porches is a great place to stay at and just chill.
they have jacuzzi tubs and cozy, cozy beds.
we ate a lovely dinner of filet mignon and duck.
watched some tube and read the paper in bed with our room-serviced breakfasts (they come in metal lunchboxes!)
saw some art, william's college has a nice museum.

saw a collage show at a little gallery in north adams, went to mass moca.
i feel inspired to do some work myself, and the very thoughtful gift my coworkers got me (a gift certificate to an art store) will come in handy.
it was a good birthday.
i really whooped it up the night before so monday i was a bit of a zombie.
but now i am 29......2-9.
crazy to say. yet i'm alright with that.
tomorrow will be yoga and therapy.
right now i'm waiting for dinner delivery, at home, aric is napping next to me.
snoring.
tomorrow is february already.
i saw some snow in the berkshires, but not enough!
before we know it, it will be spring.

i love the beach in the winter.
it's so calming.
there's nothing like the ocean air.
there is snow lightly falling right now at noon.
i'm starving.
might go for my favorite diner breakfast soon.
after last night's excitement about my lab results i did my taxes.
*gulp*
i owe $550.

just got home from work to find in the mailbox the results of my latest bloodwork to determine if my triglycerides are still high and i've been stressed about it and i put off the lab work for months and......
they're now normal!
this time last year: 213
and now: 81
i took some measures to help this, i dont eat nearly as many carbs, or drink much beer, i eat fruit everyday and take flaxseed oil supplements. a little exercise too, here and there.
this is a relief because i was at high risk for diabetes and such.
i was expecting a letter telling me i need to come into the office for a check up.
nope, i been a good girl.
2 more days of work and then i'm off for 4 and on my little birthday get away.
can't believe i will be 29.
i feel like this will be a good year.
i can only hope, the rest of the 20's have been a rollercoaster ride.
as i'm approaching the last year of my 20's, i feel more confidence, i feel stronger, wiser, ready to really truly better myself and i am thankful for the relationship i have, for its stability. i also have some really amazing friends. i couldn't say all of this 9 years ago, 6 years ago....
on that note: unappropriate i hope you are having a magnificent birthday!!!! XOXO

well, i've been sick for a few days, not too sick, just a little cold which i have fought real hard, cause i'll be damned if i'm sick for my lil birthday get-away come monday.
i have been sleeping alot, taking airborne and yesterday i stayed in my pjs ALL day.
it was great.
i feel better today.
so in roughly one hour, i will be attending my first ever BIKRAM YOGA (yes, the heated one) class.
i'm excited and a bit nervous. hopefully i can sweat through and love it because it can be really beneficial.
wish me luck.

that shit was intense! woah. i did ok though, only a brief lightheadedness. i feel great now.

things have been alright this new year.
aric sold a painting last week and has other interested buyers.
i've been feeling motivated to be creative and just finished a book of my self portraits to send to my friend evelyn as a surprise. she's sent me so many great packages, it was time for my turn.
it was nice to actually have my photos on paper instead of on the computer screen. and i got our *good* camera out (lumix) and hope to take more and more. and i've been writing.
yesterday was a good day of writing at a cafe i love in florence...and then a great massage which left me in a jello-like state and i slept like a baby. cooked some dinner....AND guess what aric got me????
what a surprise!

a trip to ny yesterday, saw a robert bechtle show in chelsea.
he is an amazing painter.
a lil trip to sephora.
a nice dinner at jerry's.
i dyed my hair red today.
while listening to jay z.
cleaned and cleaned.
call it spring cleaning.
50 degrees out.
i still long for the snow.
and i worry about the polar bears.
i've been a homebody lately.
can't believe the academy of music's closing.
aric saw casino royale there for the 3rd time the other night.
off to watch my show now.
